Studied art at Hornsey College North London.
West Surrey College of Art and Design. Textiles.
Briefly she had a small weave workshop before moving to Hong Kong with her family, there she produced art work for the Friends of Samaritans.
Today she mainly paints although her textile background is always hovering. Always enjoying and experimenting with new ideas using collage stitching(using her great grandmothers hand sewing machine), stapling, creating surfaces some times on which to paint. Her work includes landscape patterns seen fleetingly, whilst travelling by train or plane , just on-the-move. Old textiles play their part, holding memories, flowers in the garden that never fail to flower every year, whatever else is happening.
Val loves the idea of putting little bits of life together.
